Canadian geese sneaking off of Lake Lowndes towards their down lake night time gathering spot as dusk settles in. I was trying out my new Nikon D90 camera and 70-300mm lens. I was headed back to the car and a little bit disappointed until I heard them coming. When I got home and uploaded my shots onto the computer, I was disappointed again as I looked at the photos in my new photo editing software. Everything was a dull grey and the geese were barely distinguishable. Out of desperation and without knowing much about my new software, I started playing with various sliders and all of a sudden this rendition popped out when I tweaked up the vibrance and sharpening a little. It was like I had been able to turn back time and take the photo 10-15 minutes earlier while the the lake surface was still reflecting the glow of the sun on the trees on the other side of the lake. I was hooked and quite thankful to God for giving me such joy. As of this date, this photo is the favorite of more people on Flicker than any of my other photos. Taken 1/10/10
